UPC is looking for a part-time (~20 hours/week) Music Ministry Director who will lead our band, music programming, and digital worship ministry. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with the Pastor, and our volunteer and paid musicians to provide inclusive, inspiring, intergenerational worship..
The work includes:
Conducting music rehearsals on a regular scheduled basis.
Working to recruit, and train, musicians/vocalists and Tech Deacons.
Training, equipping, setting culture standards, and maintaining positive experiences for instrumentalists, UPC Kids, handbell ringers, vocalists, and Tech Deacons.
Establishing and/or maintaining necessary checklists, schedules and/or processes to facilitate the music ministry programs. Provide opportunities for feedback loops and engage in worship assessments with the Pastor.

A degree in music education or music performance OR equivalent experience with expertise in working with vocal and instrumental groups, including children.
Demonstrated digital and AV Tech experience with ability to learn new applications and systems.
The ability to lead and manage musicians with a range of ages, ability and experience in a positive and effective manner, including giving and receiving constructive feedback.
Communicating proactively and responding in a timely manner to requests.
Self-starter skills, coupled with strong people, leadership, and management skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
A commitment to deepening their own spiritual growth.
The Music Ministry Director will work under the direction of the Pastor and will collaborate closely with the Worship & The Arts Committee, the worship musicians, and the families connected with UPC Kids.
